Happy Friday! Here’s what I’m loving as we head into a long (deeeep breath) weekend here in Canada:
- The insanity that was interviewing Carol Channing for the show yesterday. A lot of the funny craziness was while we were off-air with her, but the good news is the OutTV cameras were rolling the whole while, so watch for a visual take on this hot mess of a chat coming to a Thursday night soon!
- Leslie Jordan the day before. Like the big gay sister I never had. Giggly, vivacious, Southern, naughty … I couldn’t stop laughing.
- Kylie concert tonight!
- Feeling more in alignment with myself each day. And by this I mean dealing with situations like the person I have become, rather than the person I was. Saying ‘no’, and not worrying what the others think. Getting rid of people/places/things in my life that don’t work. Catching myself caught up in old habits of thought that no longer serve me. All great examples of ‘alignment’.
- The forecast for a rainy autumn long weekend. Bring. It. And pass the turkey!
- Drama on the drama! Eric ‘Victor’ Braeden is off Y&R. He speaks to Entertainment Weekly here. I won’t miss him, he’s one of the more one-note characters there have ever been.
- The evolution of the ongoing project I call GayGuideToronto.com. It’s been a fun ride putting it back online since acquiring full ownership earlier this year; I’m loving the variety of voices now blogging. We have more tricks on the way – for example can you believe we’re going to host a social media tele-class? Stay tuned!
- 100 Dreams Fever – everyone’s writing down 100 dreams they have for themselves … have you?
- Jill Allen, Brandon Williams, Mark Wigmore, Paul Bellini, Bob Willette, Kyle Whitelaw and Heroine Marks – all extra added value this week. Thanks guys!
- This amazing onion soup recipe – I made a batch this week and it’s all gone already:
Thinly slice five or six yellow onions. Simmer them in a pot over low heat in 6 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil for two hours. After 15 minutes of cooking add in 1/2 teaspoon of sugar, 2 teaspoons of coarse salt. After 2 hours of cooking, add 5 tablespoons of flour, 14 cups of beef stock. Add vermouth or dry white wine (this week I just poured in the red) and a dash of Cognac. Awesome cold weather soup!
Have a wonderful long weekend – or regular weekend if you’re an non-Canadian!
