Hey, I was made an example of last night on CBC’s ‘Connect with Mark Kelley’ as WhiteHotTruth.com’s Danielle LaPorte’s regular “Career Fire Starter” segment focused on successful people who are “technicaly unqualified, but have managed to rock their career based on sheer talent and moxy.” Thanks Miss D!
Here is my 4:20 commentary from yesterday’s show. It was interesting (and predictable) to arrive home after the show with the new Xtra in my hand and read the slew of complaints about the very cover I mentioned two hours prior, on air.
Oh my god I’m so bored with sex. Specifically, I’m so bored with so much of our society’s hypocritical faux-puritanical reaction to it. As someone in the gay media, god I’ve seen my fair share of advertisers who totally want the gay dollar but god forbid if the publication they are in has a provocative cover featuring a penis relating to a sex-positive story within it. Gone, gone, gone, taking their ads away, as if every man in the world doesn’t have and love the penis they own. Currently there’s the media fascination with Tiger Woods and his affairs with other women, people glued to the story, judging, as if none of them aren’t already having affairs of their own, or at least desperately deep within themselves wishing they were. Madonna can kiss Britney onstage but Adam Lambert cannot faux fellate and kiss a band-mate without causing mass-outrage and protests. And then, oddly, sad Janet Jackson will go down in history as the woman who flashed a titty and lost. Worst of all, none of it is even titillating or scandalous any more, to me, anyway.
Dear Friends,
We are all born to be wonderfully sexually explorative and even sometimes outrageously so. The world is expanding faster than you can imagine, with or without you – it’s your choice if you want to keep up.
