Darlings!  I’m back, here’s a quick shot of me crossing the finish line of the Bike Rally Friday.  Then it was onwards that evening to the celebratory party at Le Drugstore in Montreal’s gaybourhood where Patrick and I hosted all.  Next day was my (29th) birthday – ooh-la-LA – and Divers/Cite throughout the weekend.  Like I said: MUCH to discuss in the coming minutes, hours, daze.  Meanwhile, I’m busy uploading Bike Rally video onto my You Tube channel – just click here as I keep them coming.

Packing Day! Hundreds gather to load their gear into bins and trucks but Wigmore, Intern Ronit and Shaun Proulx sneak their crap in to the PROUD FM vehicle. SO much better! Shhhhh!!!

The Friends For Life Bike Rally is officially on the way.  We don’t leave until Sunday but it’s all I am thinking about.  Just back in from packing our bins and beginning to tape a few segments that will air on the PROUD FM Morning Show and during my show, which will be ably manned by Big Dick Ryder and Patrick.

The aim while we are away is to 1) Make it to Montreal. 2) Do the show from the road at the same time, calling in to Richard and Patrick and preparing segments for them to share with you, and 3) Submit little moments in time, via video, to share our journey.  The first is below, shot Friday, our last day in-studio.

Friday before departure during our last show in-studio, Wigmore is quizzed on how he’s feeling as the clock ticks down to Sunday morning.

Sunday I was at a BBQ for my Friends For Life Bike Rally team (Da BOM*) and chatted with Don.  I’ve known Don casually for years, and he’s always stayed in my mind, as, like me, he owned a Daschund.  I have clear memories of Don and his ex- with their Daschund driving around in a jeep, wind blowing doggie ears.  

The BBQ was at Don’s so when I saw no sign of a Daschund, I had to ask.  Turned out he’d passed on from cancer not long ago.  But what Don did that I thought was so beautiful and emblematic of the love we have for our animals was he pressed his dog’s paw into an ink pad, took an imprint, and used it to form the tattoo he now wears on his arm, exactly where the actual paw used to rest.  I had to take a picture immediately to share, as I think it’s just one of the most beautiful things I ever heard and I know you pet lovers out there will relate.

In support of the jock strap auction at Churchmouse & Firkin tomorrow night at 9 pm, we had a few of the lads and their jockstraps on the show today.  I really dug the guy in the middle. Clearly.  All proceeds from the auction go towards my team’s fundraising efforts for the Friends For Life Bike Rally.
