We All Scream!
May 7th, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

It's 4:20 Somewhere - Get Yours Now!

Happy Fridaaaaaaaay!

This is my first post all week, and you likely can imagine why: On Tuesday I was barred from the PROUD FM studio, alongside my co-host / producer Mark Wigmore, and on Wednesday we were all fired, alongside our colleagues Deb Pearce and (my boyfriend, her co-host) Patrick Marano (aka Eddie Stone). Saturday Schtuff
May 1st, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

Happy Saturday!

I’ve spent mine shooting interviews – the first with Marc Emery, whom CNN called ‘The Prince of Pot’, a label that has stuck for about a decade.  He’s a real hero of mine, I admire him so much for his leadership and activism towards getting marijuana legalized.  Next week he finds out if he will be extradited to the U.S. and jailed for – wait for it – selling cannabis seeds.  Not even selling marijuana; seeds.  His level of cool about the potential imprisonment, his philosophical mindset, and his determination to change history inspire me.

Next up, we went to Genoa City, where Sean ‘Deacon’ Kanan came by to tape a segment.  He’s one of those actors whose soap character has migrated between Y&R and Bold & Beautiful, as they are sister soaps shot across the hall from each other at CBS.  While Deacon has been sent to jail, Kanan has kept busy with several film gigs, including one that’s just been accepted to Cannes (Prodigal), and he was in town today to do his stand-up act at Light here in the city.

You can catch both conversations this week on The Shaun Proulx Show on 103.9 PROUD FM, and extended versions very soon on OutTV, as the next batch of episodes of The Shaun Proulx Show start airing at the end of this month!

The 4:20 – Had A Bad Day?
Apr 27th, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

Canadian Icon Eric Peterson Visits The Show! (Photo: Richard KiKoT)

Hey, it’s the end of the day, did you have a bad one?  If the bad in your day involved work, you’re not alone.  Why, just to my left is my exhausted assistant Richard, who has been dealing with what science would call “an asshole” all day. Read the rest of this entry »

Deconstructing Genoa City: Pinesol Chasah
Apr 23rd, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

Researching For Today's Chat With Victoria!

Today on the show, over Pine-Sol chasahs, I speak with Victoria Rowell, ex-Dru from Y&R.  Her new novel is Secrets Of A Soap Opera Diva, her infectious rap song and video ‘Stink Of Blood With A Pine-Sol Chasah’ is on iTunes under ‘comedy’, her campy webisodes are becoming wildly popular, and she’s got a lot to say about Y&R, her co-stars, what happened while she was there, and whether or not she’d join the show again.

We will air an abbreviated version due to show scheduling; but here’s the full-on uncut convo.  ENJOY:

Feel GOOD Friday!
Apr 23rd, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

With Wigmore Upon Arrival In Vegas. (Photo: Sabrina Pirillo)

YES to this weekend; YES!  Mama needs to rest after Vegas.  Here’s what else I’m loving as we chug along through Friday:

Macy Grey may seem completely MaryJ-d out at most times, but I love that voice and her summer-sweet new single, ‘Beauty In The World’:

The return of the grilled cheese sandwich!  Except these days don’t settle for anything less than Dee-Luxe!  Everywhere I go, from the cheese shop on Church St. here in Toronto to Botero restaurant at Encore Las Vegas, gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches are taking over!  Minimum three different kinds of gourmet cheeses per sandwich is the gooey rule!

Getting to hold gold! Women’s hockey’s Haley Wickenheiser came to the studio yesterday along with her Vancouver Olympics gold medal.  WOW!

And I Don't Even LIKE Sports!

Archie comics get’s a gay character this fall – EvoLUtion! :)

Law Of Attraction: This morning I really fell off my rocker in terms of leaving being aligned with Who I Really Am.  But the story now goes that I am currently focusing in the direction I want to be, not still staring back in the direction that made me fall off my rocker (and moaning and groaning about it, preparing a protest).  Not quite back in alignment yet, but almost there.  Get it?

The 4:20 – Oprah: The Biography
Apr 22nd, 2010 by Shaun Proulx

Let’s talk about Lady O for a bit, shall we?  If you are watching her final months of The Oprah Winfrey Show, you may in agreement with me when I say that these dwindling hours with her aren’t exactly up to par.

But that certainly hasn’t stopped me from devouring the Kitty Kelley biography on Oprah as soon as it was released last week. Miss Kitty says she approached her subject with respect and admiration, but when you are notorious for writing biographies with a fair amount of dirt in them, we know you are doing your digging regardless, Kitty Kat.
