Last Friday afternoon I was interviewed by leadership coach Laura Tucker for her podcast, Free Your Inner Guru. That’s her reflecting in my eyewear as we enjoyed a “first patio cocktails of the season” moment one day after work a few weeks back.
I like to keep things as organic and fluid as possible, but took that to a new level with this interview; we actually scrapped all of our previously-decided-upon topics last minute, because the death by suicide last week of Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain offered so much we wanted to talk about in and around that topic, in the red hot moment of it all.
Our conversation is getting such a strong response from listeners – it’s Laura’s most-downloaded podcast ever – who feel the ideas shared are right on time, and full of valuable reminders.
It’s always weird to be the one being asked the questions, but Laura is such an easy person to chat with that – yep – tears… a couple times. (I was born a faucet and will die a faucet.)
This conversation includes laughs, The Young and the Restless, the origin of #ThoughtRevolution of PLUS:
* Why success is not doing what other people thing you should be doing.
* What we can learn from Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain.
* The things people give up when they have a public life.
* The best part of making your dreams come true.
* How I deal with fear.
* Why we have to take the things we don’t like and bless them.
* Why managing your orbit is everything.
* The 3 things I does almost daily to “tune my dial” into alignment to enjoy anywhere from consistent baseline happiness to joy, most of my experience.
